Real Promotion

Psalm 75:4-7 (NIV), 1Peter 5:6

To the arrogant I say, ‘Boast no more,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns. Do not lift your horns against heaven; do not speak with outstretched neck.'” No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt a man. But it is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another. *Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.

In James 1:17, the Bible says that all good and perfect gifts come from God, the Father of Lights. Real promotion is one of the good and perfect gifts that come from God. Promotion is not an award and it’s not about titles. Promotion is about greater impact and productivity. Real promotion starts from the inside. God promotes you by increasing your capacity and giving you more grace that will increase your impact and influence. This is one reason why you must never practice eye service in anything that you are engaged in. The all seeing eyes of God see you even when no one else sees you and He will reward your secret faithfulness with public impact.

Anything that is causing you to be unfaithful is out to deceive you and to deny you of the real promotion that God has in store for you. Do not be proud and do not be unfaithful. Rather, be faithful with the little and God will give you more. If you are faithful with the treasures of others, God will give you your own. Be faithful with natural things and God will give you spiritual things, Luke 16:10-12. Be a good ambassador of Jesus Christ.

Be humble and be patient. God will exalt you in due time. Do not allow the fact that you are not yet receiving the recognition you expect from men cause you to stop being faithful. Men may be unjust, but God is not unjust to forget you labour of sincerity and love, Heb.6:10. In due time, you will reap real promotion from God if you refuse to faint, Gal.6:9.

PRAYER FOCUS: Receive God’s grace to remain humble, faithful and patient, both in secret and in public.
