Take Charge of Your Garden

Genesis 2:8-10
And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.

Genesis 2:15 says, and the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. God has placed you where you are, given you your life and equipped you in the way that He has so that you can be fruitful. You are called to use your gifts and talents to fulfill His will and to advance His purpose on this earth.

To take charge over the things that God has given you, you have to be watchful. You have to be very sensitive, observant and diligent. Do not take things for granted and see to it that things are consistently heading in the direction that they are supposed to! Walking in righteousness and obedience to God causes you to take charge of the things that God has given you. Righteousness preserves and exalts, while sin destroys and abases, Prov.14:34. To exalt is to lift up and to abase is to bring down. Resist the temptation to forge against God’s word for any reason.

Remember, Adam lost his garden when he disobeyed God’s instructions.

The devil is a thief and he will look for every way possible to steal, kill and destroy the things that God has given to you; but you must not let Him. Do not listen to his voice. Instead, submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you, James 4:7. As you submit to God, you will enjoy abundance and life. Let God’s Word and His will guide your every step and path, Psa.119:105. Continue doing what God has called you to do in the way He has called you to do it.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I receive your grace to be watchful and to follow Your leading as I take care of all that You have given me.
