Answer with Divine Authority

1Samuel 17:44-46

“And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field. Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee…”

Often times, courage and discouragement are a reflection of the dominant voice in your heart. Many situations and people in life will try to say intimidating things to you but you must answer them with authority. The reason the King James Bible says Jesus ‘answered’ the fig tree is because the original word used there was respond. Jesus responded with words of authority to the situation and like a double edged sword, His words went into effect immediately.

Consistently choose words that are aligned with God’s mindset towards you to cast down those thoughts and imaginations that attempt to exalt themselves above the knowledge of God concerning you, 2Cor.10:4-5. To answer with authority, you must not allow any situation to intimidate you. David refused to allow Goliath to intimidate him. The Bible says, do not let anyone to despise you because you are young. Rise up and be an example, 1Tim.4:12.

You may not be able to stop people from despising you but you canchoose not to allow their negativity to affect you. This you can do by speaking out and declaring God’s mind concerning you to yourself. Do not allow any negative thought to settle in your mind and spirit. Instead, taking every thought captive and speaking out against every intimidation will empower you to rise up and do what God has called you to do with authority and dignity.

PRAYER: Declare God’s mind concerning you to every situation that is trying to intimidate you right now. Declare that because you know God, you are strong and will do exploits.
