Empowered to Manifest Christ’s Influence

John 20:21, John 15:5&8,

Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. *I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. *Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

The branch is the fruit bearing part of a tree. It is the fruit that the branch of a tree produces that reveals the nature of the tree. You and I have been divinely empowered to reveal to the world the nature and person of Christ. What Christ would do if He was in your position right now is what God has empowered you to do right now. That is why Christ has commissioned us just as the Father commissioned Him. The same Spirit that flows in Christ-the Vine- flows in you, His branches. You have all that it takes to reveal the life and power of Christ to the world.

Knowing your real spiritual identity in Christ will produce a divine sense of confidence and responsibility on the inside of you. God wants you to see yourself the same way Christ sees Himself because He has made you just like Christ. Until you begin to see yourself as Christ sees Himself, you will not be able to bear the same kind of fruit that Christ would bear if He was in your position right now.

You carry the very life of Christ in you. The Bible says that you have the mind of Christ, 1Cor.2:16. You also have His Name and authority. You have His Spirit, His power and His wisdom. Choose not to hide all these things that you have. Manifest them and use them to occupy until Christ comes. Use them to exercise the same influence that Christ would have if He was in your position.

PRAYER FOCUS: Thank God for the life and abilities of Christ that dwell in you. Ask God for grace to see yourself as Christ sees Himself and for grace to manifest Christ’s influence everywhere you find yourself today.
