Giving Your Best

Galatians 6:4-5 (KJV & GNB) But let every man prove his own work, and
then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every
man shall bear his own burden.

*You should each judge your own conduct. If it is good, then you can be proud of what you yourself have done, without having to compare it with what someone else has done. For each of you have to carry your own load.

In 1Corinthians 3:13, the Bible says that every man’s work will be tested. During this testing, your work will not be compared with that of others because God who knows your capabilities has given you responsibilities in line
with your ability. Your work will be tested to determine whether you offered your best and did your work with all your heart.

God sees in secret and rewards us openly so continually give your best in all that you do. Revelations 3:8, 10 & 11 say, I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. *Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Galatians 5:26 says let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Do not be like Cain who, instead of taking God’s correction, allowed himself to become manipulated into killing his brother (Abel) out of envy and jealousy. It is a privilege to be chastised and corrected when we go wrong. Take correction where necessary and commit to consistently giving your best.

Prayer Focus: Thank God for the grace to be focused and to keep giving your best to all that you do. Pray that you will never be distracted by envy or jealousy.
